The Study of Diversity Gap of Teachers in American Schools Essay Sample

There is no doubt that America is a diverse country, and its classrooms should reflect this. However, as Boser (2011) points out, this is not the case. Teacher diversity gap is a huge problem in America, and it’s only getting worse. Boser’s study found that states have cut local programs that support teachers of color recruitment, and the number of Black and Latino teachers is dwindling. This is a huge problem because students of color perform better academically when they have a teacher of color. The data-driven article provides solutions, but they all require effort and investment from many different stakeholders.
