Biographical Discourse of Krakauer’s ‘Into The Wild’ Essay Sample

/nAlthough biographies typically conform to conventions in terms of how the author gathers information and how the book is structured, Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer is an exceptional biography that differs from the norm. Krakauer does an excellent job of using primary sources to back up his research, and the unique structure of his book, which includes maps and epigraphs before each chapter, helps the reader visualize the content of the chapter. In addition, Krakauer includes his own personal experiences in the book, which allows the reader to better understand Chris McCandless and the similarities between Chris and other adventurers.
