Overall, this essay was an interesting read on the differences between human language and animal communication. The author does a good job of providing specific examples to illustrate their points. I found myself nodding along in agreement as I read, especially with the section discussing displacement. Although, it was written during the Cold War, the novel is still relevant today because the ideas that Orwell warned about are still present in our society.
