Representation of The American Dream in The Great Gatsby

In my opinion, Fitzgerald does a great job of using symbolism throughout the novel to represent the American dream. The green light, eyes of doctor T.J Eckleburg, and valley of ashes, all contribute to the idea of the American dream and what it means to different characters in the novel. I think that the use of symbolism helps to give the reader a better understanding of the American dream and how it can be interpreted by different people.
