The novel “1984” is a very important book that speaks to the human condition. The story is set in a future world that is controlled by a totalitarian government. The government watches and monitors all of the citizens through telescreens and posters with the phrase “Big Brother is Watching You”. The government also has a language called Newspeak which is supposed to stop rebellion.
